The 10 Recipes That Start My Fall 🍂🥧

Hey there,

Welcome to September! This is my season, and I've been waiting on it since July!🍁

Today I wanted to share the ten recipes I make every Fall, without fail. I hope you'll try one of these soon!

ONE BOWL

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

These are a regular around here every fall, no occasion required. One bowl, a tender crumb, and sugar tops that crackle when you bite in.

EXTRA MOIST

Pumpkin Bread

The muffins and this loaf are the two things I always make as soon as September arrives. Warm spices, one bowl, and it stays moist for days!

10-MINUTE PREP

Sheet Pan Sausage and Potatoes

Seasoned potatoes and smoked sausage roast together on a single tray, with ten minutes of prep. The potatoes crisp at the edges while the sausage browns.

FLAKY PIE CRUST

Chicken Pot Pie

This is the one the kids ask for on the first evening that actually feels like fall. The sauce is made on the stovetop rather than opened from a can, and the store-bought crust browns while the filling bubbles underneath.

CHICKEN + PORK

Crockpot Brunswick Stew

Chicken and pork together with beans, corn, and tomatoes, cooked low in the slow cooker until everything goes tender. This is a Virginia classic -- don't forget the cornbread!

LONG SIMMER

The Best Spaghetti Sauce

Ground beef and Italian sausage together, with red wine and a mix of herbs simmered down over a few hours. It makes a big batch and freezes well.

LOW AND SLOW

Dutch Oven Pot Roast

The first Sunday that feels like fall, this is what goes in the oven. Chuck roast, potatoes, carrots, and a long braise that turns a cheap cut into something you can shred with a fork.

CRISPY SKIN

Dutch Oven Roast Chicken

The other Sunday dinner, and the one that gives you a second meal out of it. Simple herbs, crispy skin, and a whole bird that comes out tender without much fussing.

BUTTERMILK

Cast Iron Cornbread

Self-rising cornmeal mix and buttermilk, baked in a hot cast iron skillet. The preheated pan is what gives you the crisp brown crust with a tender middle.

FOOLPROOF

3-Ingredient Biscuits

Three ingredients, thirty-five minutes, and they come out fluffy and buttery every time. Nothing about this one is complicated.

Ten is a lot to look at, so don't treat it like a to-do list. Pick whichever one sounds best right now and let the rest wait!

→ More where these came from: My list above only scratches the surface. My Cozy Fall Recipes collection is built around apples, pumpkins, and squash, which is where most of my fall cooking ends up eventually.

To be honest, I could have kept going. Ten down, and a whole season ahead of us!🍎
